About Don
A therapist who actually gets it.
I'm Don Neil, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Pittsburgh's South Side. I've been working in mental health for over 10 years across residential, inpatient, and outpatient settings. I started PMA Counseling because therapy should feel like a real conversation, not a clinical transaction.
I've sat with people in some of their hardest moments. I know progress isn't linear and I know it takes guts to show up and do this work. We'll meet you exactly where you are.
My approach is strengths-based. That means I believe you already have what it takes. Sometimes you just need someone to help you find it. I'm not here to tell you what to do. I'm here to ask the right questions and help you figure out what's true for you.
Outside of sessions I stay grounded by spending time outside: hiking, backpacking, cycling, bouldering. That relationship with effort, discomfort, and reward is something I carry into the work we do together.
I see clients via teletherapy across all of Pennsylvania with flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
